“I was angry. I watched as this selfish degenerate’s acts depleted our family. We lost everything behind this guy."
Job 14:22, “He feels only the pain of his own body, and he mourns only for himself."(ESV)
“After which, I finally grew a brain and called. I demanded that he speak to me. He finally answered. I told him that I loved him and that no matter what we would get through this.”
At this point, Selena was sobbing, “I said, “Juan, please say something!” He said, in the coldest and deadest voice I’ve ever heard him use, ‘Don’t ever come back here again.’ And hung up the phone.
A week later, I received the legal envelope, opened it, and learned that he had filed for divorce.” Carlos couldn’t stand by and watch this any longer. He leaned in and consoled her.
After she regained her composure, she resumed.
“At this point, I was done. I had no home, vehicle, privacy, or money. Our family was covered in shame, and on top of all that, I’m now divorced. Here’s the crazy part, losing the stuff was nothing; however, losing my marriage, that was the last straw. I told my children and we mourned together.”

Selena asked, “So, where is he?”
Carlos replied, “I don’t know. He left crying after he saw you. But, I’m looking for him.”
Selena stood, outed her cigarette and said, “Well, when you find him, you make sure to tell him that I said this: “Stay away from me, MY kids, and my place of business.”
Carlos said, “I will, and I’m sorry.”
Selena responded, “It’s okay, you didn’t know. But…” as she long paused, “…now you do.” And with that, she began to walk back to the restaurant
