31 - Miracles...

"Jokingly he said to himself (and God), “I tell you what God, if you can make miracles happen, then do that.  Yep.  Pull that off.  You do that.  Huh, then maybe, just maybe you’ll have a believer in me.”

He told the professor, “I’d love to.”  The professor wrote down the address and time and gave it to Carlos.  Carlos took the paper, left the class, and went off campus to get something to eat. 
Famished and also desiring a bit of a drama-free day, he elected to go to “another” restaurant. Anywhere other than where Selena was working.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to see her; in fact, he wish he could.  Undoubtedly, he considered the idea of going to see Juan renew his Christian walk, and the thought of Selena being there was enough to make his eyes water a bit.  However, just thinking about having to face her wrath again or an even worse account with Eddie was enough for him to pass.

He walked into a Chinese buffet and waited to be seated by the host.  As he was being led to his table, a kid carelessly ran into him and spilled a plate of food on his shoes.  The kid froze and said, “I’m sorry mister.” 


Carlos, shocked, upset, but even more so empathetic said, “it’s okay buddy,” and proceeded to help the kid pick up the plate.  At that moment, his mom ran up to the three of them and said, “Oh mister I’m so sorry.”


The voice jolted Carlos.  The sound gave him chills.  He looked up, and sure enough, it was…
