"Question:  how bad do you want it?  This answer is crucial because the response... will make or break your dream.  If you have a goal and you only dedicate 2% of your life to it, it’s never going to come to pass."

Okay, enough already.  This is a new week and we refuse to repeat the same things.  Aren’t you tired of this?  Aren’t you tired of dreaming your dreams daily and STILL not ACTING on them?  Why aren’t you?  Why aren’t you pressing forward with your goals?  Well, the answer is sad, super, and simple.

The problem is YOU!  You are the reason why you aren’t doing what you dream to do.

Now, please hear me clear; I’m definitely not saying any of this in a condescending fashion.  FACT:  I am my own problem as well.  However, today is in motion and we have to get a grip.  Otherwise, we’ll be 5 or 10 years down the road, with a ton of untouched goals, and a whole lot of unresolved and very unnecessary regret.

So, here’s the question.  What can we do RIGHT NOW to make a change in our situation?  What’s our best move to begin the restructure of our efficiency?  I think that we can all agree that whatever we do, it needs to be fast.  No more wasted time; I don’t even want you to take too much of time reading this.  It’s Monday and it’s time to seize the week.  LET’S GO!!

Therefore, here are the 5 things that you ought to consider NOW, in order to start and sustain the pursuit of your goals.

  1. Resolve and make very clear the vision of what you want to do:  What do you want to do?  I’m talking about that thing that you dream about.  Do you want to start a business?  Memorize scripture? Write a book?  Whatever it is, figure it out, and write it down.  After you scribe your dream, make a list of action steps that you believe need to occur in order to make your dream a reality.
  2. Do an honest and current evaluation of your time:  With your list of success steps complete and in hand; I would like for you to do a true to life evaluation of your time.  What are you CURRENTLY doing with your time?  Are you reading?  Writing?  Watching TV?  Talking on the phone?  Playing online games?  This list is just for you; therefore, it shouldn’t be anything other than honest.  It needs to be authentic and candid.  Even if you write a bunch of waste, if that is your current reality, it needs to be on the list.
  3. Any activity that doesn’t move you closer to your dream must be placed under interrogation:  Next, get ready for some more honesty.  Take your time and review every listed area of time consumption.  During the review, ask yourself:  Is this thing getting me closer to the fulfillment of my dream?  If the item is yes, great.  However, if the item doesn’t, it must go under interrogation, not elimination.  After all, there are somethings that don’t have anything to do with your goals; however, they may be just as or even more important than the goal.  For example, let’s suppose a person would like to obtain their master’s degree.  As they examine their current schedule their list includes “cardio”, “family time”, and “playing the Xbox.”  None of these items are related to the goal; however, 2 of the 3 are worthy to remain.
  4. The items that FAIL, have to be replaced:  Question:  how bad do you want it?  This answer is crucial because the response to number 4 will make or break your dream.  If you have a goal and you only dedicate 2% of your life to it, it’s never going to come to pass.  Therefore, if you REALLY want your goal; you’d have to get rid of the areas of your life that don’t pass the test in #3.  Why are we watching all of this TV?  Why do we spend so much time online doing NOTHING?  Why are you playing an app game on your phone for 2 hours a day?  FACT:  there isn’t a good answer to these questions.  So, these activities have to go.  They then must be replaced with items from your success plan.  This will ensure that you’re making legit steps towards your goal, NO MATTER WHAT.
  5. Repeat this process every 2 months:  That’s right.  Pull out your phone and set a calendar alert to repeat this process every 2 months.  Why?  Because in 2 months you may find that you’ve gone into a productivity relapse.  If so, that’s okay; after all, we’ve caught in early.  Instead, use this alarm to get back on track (or get back earlier.)  The goal is to have your alarm ringing bi-monthly unnecessarily because you’re now committed to your tasks, by developed habit.

So, what do you think?  Do you believe this will work?  What did I miss?  I hope this helps you get going.  Please leave a comment and tell me how you’re implementing, what do you think, or what did I forget.  Please know that I’ve prayed for you (the reader) and I know that God is able to bring you through.  Stay focused and be blessed.
