"As a society the proficiency of the lover, has grown almost higher than the efficiency of the love. Sex has become more about individuality rather than intimacy. It's about performance and not purity."
Warning: You're about to read an unpopular opinion. This "opinion" is also absolute truth, but unpopular, nonetheless.

"Since there is so much power in the tongue, I plan to spend a portion of every day in 2020 verbally reaffirming my vision for myself, to myself."
365 days later, and here we are. In less than 24 hours the year of 2019 will be history.
"At some point, we’re going to have to take a look in the mirror, dig deep, and begin to ask ourselves the hard questions. Questions that will (and should) begin to expose what prayerfully, the real problem could be."
I’ve heard it said that a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. If that’s true (and I’m assured that it is), then I pray you’d allow this next statement to serve as the sugar.
Fact: it takes great courage and a very resilient spirit to keep trying a thing over and over again. To look at a task and make a convicted decision that, in spite of a number of failed attempts, you refuse to give up or accept defeat. J.K. Rowling had a manuscript rejected dozens of times until it was finally accepted by a London publisher. The title you ask? Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone. "You see, I’m learning that if I can create consistent, healthy habits, then the desired results will naturally and eventually come my way."
I know, I know, I know. It’s been a while, I know. And, I’m sorry for the gap, I really am. However, I think you’ll be glad to know that I’ve been gone dealing with some good stuff. I went on vacation to Texas to marry my niece, I joined our youth counselors to take our youth group to the Florida State Youth for Christ Conference (and I’m thankful to God that they did an awesome job), and I had my sister’s family and kids over for the 4thof July.
But, enough of all of that… I’m glad to be back. I’ve made up my mind that I won’t quit. I’m going to continue to challenge myself in those two areas, even if I never reach my desired goal in life (Fact: one of the hardest truths I’ve ever typed).
Fitness and schedules.
Those two menaces are admittedly my proverbial Achilles’s heels. Naturally, if you’ve been following this blog for a while, I’m assured you knew that already. I’ve battled with creating a habit of exercising and maintaining a productive work routine for some time and I’ll admit that I’ve seen more failure than success. "I have the power to change, improve, overcome, and win in Christ Jesus. After all, I am more than a conqueror (cf. Romans 8:37)."
Yesterday, I had to remind myself of a very important fact. A fact that is as old as it is dependable and as dependable, as it is necessary. It’s not a flashy point. In fact, it’s very blunt and direct. However, if you receive it, IT can change your life.
Are you ready for it? Okay, here goes: “I’m trying hard, but I keep falling and after a while, I’m going to start feeling like my worship is worthless.”
Loosely based on a true story.
So, I was talking to a real good friend of mine, and he was sharing with me some of his struggles with sin. As he shared, I remembered being proud of him for his willingness to admit his error. I was honored that he entrusted me with his failings and I was in awe of his maturity and willingness of transparency. "Your new best friend or the person who could be the answer to your biggest problem could be in that room. HOWEVER, your fears are keeping you silent. Or worse, they’re keeping you AWAY from a blessing."'
So, today I’m beginning to own my own case of social awkwardness.
Now, don’t go too far, I’m not crippled by crowds. After all, I can hold it together in a social setting. However, if I’m being all the way honest, I’ll admit that I’m definitely not a fan of the unknown social settings, nor do I enjoy venues that require you to meet and engage people that you don’t know. "They’re sore from yesterday’s workout, tired, sleepy, and ready to go to back to bed. However, they won’t, they refuse. They are chasing a dream, and the dream of tomorrow, demands the work of today." "Here is a fact, your AP will be the person who steps into your most vulnerable place. They will know your success, secrets, and shame. Therefore, making a sound and good decision on who you allow your AP to be, should be the highest priority." |
