On the 12th day of the month of December, in the year of *@#% (someone leans and says, “Did he just tell her age?”), God appointed my good thing and my wonderful gift.

#PIP Family:  Today, we pause and take a break from our regular proceedings for a very important news alert.

If you’re reading this, you should know that the publishing date for this post is Monday, December 12, 2016, and this day is my wife’s (Clarissa S. Jones) birthday.  Today, she turns… (yeah) and I thank God for us knowing one another.

So, in commemoration of her, today I’d like to take a pause in our standard style of posting, and instead, I’d like to share this with you.

When you begin to research, you’ll find that there are several historically significant events that have transpired on this date.  On this date in 1951, Joe DiMaggio announced his retirement.  On the same date in 1961, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and 700 supporters were arrested in Albany, GA during an activist demonstration; and in 1979, on this very date, gold hit a record price of $462.50 an ounce.  However, in addition to all of these significant events, I believe another very significant event took place in the year of 1981.  On this date and year, Teresa Carner-Sutton gave birth to the woman that God purposed for me.

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:22, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”(NIV)  This passage declares that when God crafted woman, He did so with the intentions of providing man with a blessing.  The man who obtained one of these God crafted ladies was deemed to have found something virtuous or noble.  In addition to this honorable find, he was also noted as being preferred by God; in that, it was God who gave him this wonderful gift.

On the 12th day of the month of December, in the year of 1981 (someone leans and says, “Did he just tell her age?”), God appointed my good thing and my wonderful gift.  He marinated her in His Word and seasoned her with purpose.  She was presented unto me in the year of 2002, and she’s been my support ever since.

I give all praise to the Most High God for blessing my bride, my kids’ mom, the first lady of PPCC, my confidant, my friend, my fuss-buddy, my in-car-navigation-even-though-I-didn’t-ask-for-it, my HGTV addict, my dread-head, my cook-like-she-is-cousins-with-Patti-and-Martha, the only person I know who’s broken an Otter box phone cover THREE TIMES, educator, Mrs. “I-do-not-play-when-it-comes-to-kids”, my one and only, Clarissa S. Jones.

Happy Birthday Mrs. Jones.  And I pray that God blesses you with many more wonderful years.

Leave some birthday wishes below family.  Be blessed.
