"This modern-attitude, this new realm of thinking sadly indicates that beauty must be graded, clothing must be designer, abs must be ripped, and you must be renowned."
So, the Wednesday Word for this Week is VAIN!
2 Timothy 3:1-4, “(1) But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. (2) People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, (3) without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, (4) treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”(NLT) I’m beginning to believe that there are some people who genuinely think that you have to somehow earn or be qualified for self-worth. It is as if you are only allowed to feel good about yourself if you're rich, chiseled, gorgeous, or famous. We are currently living in a world where self-esteem seems to be unmerited because "she's not all that cute" or "your whole outfit cost $50" or "they have no business posting a workout video" or "why is he trying to write a book and only has 300 followers?" As if to say, “why would you be proud of your face when it looks like that?” Or, “why would you love yourself when you’re shaped like that?” Or, “why would you believe that anything that you have to say matters?” After all, based on your social media clicks you honestly appear to be a nobody, right? This modern-attitude, this new realm of thinking sadly indicates that beauty must be graded, clothing must be designer, abs must be ripped, and you must be renowned. In other words, perfection (and only perfection) is only allowed, and if you're not, then please don't you dare act like you matter. We are literally in the last days. Consider this. The Bible says, "For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant..." (cf. 2 Timothy 3:2). I mean, c’mon now. If that’s not a perfect description of the NOW, then I don’t know what is. I mean think about it: what have we become? We have literally ‘evolved’ into people who glorify vanity. We make matters out of what doesn’t matter, and then we act as if it’s the only thing that matters. People don’t matter anymore; property matters, popularity matters, perception matter. And here’s the sad part: we are literally in class, and we are teaching the youth that your stuff is more important than yourself. And… that’s wrong. My Advice: die to both thinking and believing these lies. Your worth has nothing to do with your features, fashion, fame, or finances. Rather, it has all to do with YOU. Unique, one-of-a-kind, imperfect, awesome, Creator-designed, talented, special, God-adored, gifted, YOU. Never forget that. Lord, thank You so very much for loving us the way we are. Thank You for not demanding for me to be more toned, richer, are contemporarily styled; but rather, for calling me, to just be, a BETTER ME. Lord, I love You for loving us, even when we did it wrong. In the name of my Jesus, Amen. Your thoughts? Convicted? Upset? Agree? Disagree? Let me know below. Peace and love family. Imperfectly, K. Jones, Sr. @imperfection360 @kevindjonessr

Neither effected or non effected by this. Vanity is one of those things that GOD himself had to correct us on, Do Not Worship The Lord In Vain, it is such a delicate topic that GOD had to step in and write it in stone.

"Not good enough" is one of my greatest fears as is the fear "you are going to find out about me."

I have listened to friends talk about what part of their body they're going to surgically alter next. Never mind eating right or exercising, just go under the knife & become perfect over night. I agree, sadly, Vanity is the "Norm". The problem is carving up the outside has nothing to do with who you are on the inside ( which the knife can't change). I may not be "36-22-36" but I am a child of the KING and HE says I am "Wonderfully" made. That alone makes me worthwhile. Amen?
